Overview

MASP (the São Paulo Museum of Art Assis Chateaubriand) is the postcard image of Avenida Paulista: the famous 74-metre free span, designed by Lina Bo Bardi, houses one of the most important art collections in the Southern Hemisphere. Besides the museum, Avenida Paulista is packed with cultural centres, bookshops and Parque Trianon, and becomes a large promenade on Sundays, when it is closed to cars. Trianon-MASP station, on Line 2 (Green), leaves you a few steps from the entrance.
