What this site is
metrosaopaulo.info is an independent guide to São Paulo’s metro, monorail and commuter trains. It is not the website of Metrô, CPTM, ViaQuatro, ViaMobilidade, TIC Trens or LinhaUni, and we are not affiliated with any of them: we do not sell tickets or top up cards, and we cannot handle a complaint or a refund.
We put in one place a page for every line and station, fares and tickets, timetables, the map and a route planner. The site is funded by advertising.
What the October 2026 review found
On October 11, 2026 we checked the whole site against the operators’ own data, and a lot had changed.
Line 17 (Gold). We described it as “under construction”, but it has carried passengers since March 31, 2026 (Washington Luís since June 30). We also listed three stations that are not on it — Chácara Santo Antônio, Jardim Aeroporto and Água Espraiada — and were missing Chucri Zaidan. The pages for the non-existent stations now redirect to the line page.
Line 6 (Orange). The João Paulo I–Perdizes section opened on July 2, 2026 and was not on the site. It now has its own page and a page for each of its 6 stations.
Operators. Line 7 is run by TIC Trens and Lines 8 and 9 by ViaMobilidade; the site still said “CPTM”. We also corrected the routes of Lines 7, 9 and 10.
Status board. Lines 13, 15 and 17 always showed “normal service”, but no live source covers them. The board now only says whether they are within service hours.
Map. The old map lacked Lines 6 and 17. We drew a new diagram from the station coordinates; it is not the official map.
What is live and what is not
The status of Lines 1–5 and 7–12 comes live from the service behind CPTM’s official app. Everything else — hours, intervals, fares — comes from published, dated information. For Lines 6, 13, 15 and 17 the board shows no incidents, because we have no such source.
Where each fact comes from
Lines, stations and order: the websites of Metrô, CPTM, ViaQuatro, ViaMobilidade, TIC Trens and LinhaUni, checked in October 2026.
Live status: the public service behind CPTM’s app, covering Metrô, CPTM and the concessionaires.
Fares: official announcements by the São Paulo State Government and SPTrans.
The map: a diagram drawn by us; positions are approximate.
When we get it wrong
We fix it and we say what was fixed — this page is the example. If something does not add up, write to [email protected].
This site is run by the team at GoRandom, a small group based in the Basque Country in Spain who do two things that go together better than they sound: travel, and build websites.
São Paulo is not yet one of the cities we have set foot in — we are up to twenty and we move slowly. We would rather say so than pretend otherwise: what you read here does not come from our memories, it comes from what the operator publishes and from checking work we can show you.
The other half of what we know how to do is web development, and this site is the excuse to put the two together. We do not leave it sitting there: every fare and every timetable carries its source and the date we checked it, and they get revised when the operator changes something. The last full review was on October 11, 2026, when we checked every line and station against the operators’ own data and added Line 6 (Orange).
He decides what goes up, checks the data before it does, and answers the email. If you find a fare that has expired or a timetable that no longer holds, there is a specific person to write to.
