Line 15 (Silver) is one of the six lines that make up the São Paulo Metro system and one of the thirteen that form the São Paulo Metropolitan Transport Network. It uses monorail technology and runs driverless trains. It currently has 14.6 km of track and 11 stations on the section from Vila Prudente to Jardim Colonial.

Once complete, the line is expected to be approximately 26,6 km long and to consist of 18 stations, with capacity to carry around 550.000 passengers per day. Its starting point will be Ipiranga Station, which will connect with Line 10 (Turquoise), and it will extend to the future Hospital Cidade Tiradentes Station.

The section currently in operation offers a free transfer with Line 2 (Green), which is the main metro line in the west of São Paulo.

Line 15 (Silver) of the São Paulo Metro is a monorail line, the sixth to enter service on the São Paulo Metro. Once fully developed, it will be 26.6 kilometres long with 18 stations. This line will link the districts of Ipiranga and Cidade Tiradentes, passing through neighbourhoods such as Vila Prudente, Parque São Lucas, Sapopemba, São Mateus and Iguatemi, among others.

Its total cost is R$ 6,40 billion and it is estimated to serve a demand of 550,000 passengers per day, as well as connecting the bus terminals of Vila Prudente, Sapopemba, São Mateus and Cidade Tiradentes.

The first section, running from Vila Prudente station to Oratório station, opened on 30 August 2014. For eleven months it operated on reduced hours, on an experimental basis and free of charge. On 10 August 2015 it began commercial operation, with daily hours from 7h to 19h. Since 26 October 2016 it has operated on the same hours as the other metro lines, from 4h40 to midnight, although with frequent testing and no service on Sundays for most of the day.

In April 2018, four stations (São Lucas, Camilo Haddad, Vila Tolstói and Vila União) were delivered and began operating normally in December 2018, after a period of reduced operation and normal operating hours in January 2019. Jardim Planalto station opened on 26 August 2019 and has been operating with normal hours since its opening. The Sapopemba, Fazenda da Juta and São Mateus stations opened on 16 December 2019, with assisted operation, and began operating with normal hours from 6 January 2020. Jardim Colonial station opened on 29 December 2021.

The section between Boa Esperança and Hospital Cidade Tiradentes stations is not yet under construction, although governor João Doria promised to deliver it by 2022. The start of works on the section up to Ipiranga station, including the station, was scheduled for 2020 to ease the transfer demand on the rest of the rail system, which would be unsustainable with Vila Prudente station alone.
